Sources & Methodology

Where the numbers on this site come from, how we build them into full meals, and what we do when sources disagree.

Where the data comes from

This site is an independent, unofficial calculator. We don't operate Moe's Southwest Grill and we don't have private access to their internal recipes. Our per-ingredient figures (calories, protein, fat, carbohydrates, sodium) are compiled from publicly available nutrition disclosures and third-party nutrition databases, cross-checked against each other for consistency.

Always check the official source for anything medical, allergy-related, or otherwise high-stakes. Moe's publishes its own nutrition and allergen information directly through its official channels. If you have a food allergy, a medical condition affected by sodium, sugar, or macronutrient intake, or you're tracking numbers for a clinical reason, use the restaurant's own current disclosures — not this site — as your source of record.

How we build combination totals

Because almost everything on the menu is build-your-own, there's no single fixed "burrito" or "bowl" calorie count. Our calculator adds up the individual components you select — base, protein, toppings, sauces, sides — using the per-item figures in our nutrition chart. The combo examples on that page are worked examples of common orders, not official menu items.

Review cadence

We review the figures on this site on a rolling basis and update them when we identify a discrepancy or a menu change. If you spot a number that looks off or out of date, we want to know — see contact details in the footer of this site.

What this site is not

This is a consumer reference tool, not a medical, dietetic, or clinical resource. See our disclaimer for the full scope of what the calculator is and isn't meant to be used for, and our editorial policy for how we decide what to publish and correct.
