What "low-carb" means here
Unlike keto's roughly 20–30g daily ceiling, a general low-carb approach usually targets keeping any single meal under 50–80g of carbs — enough room to include one starchy element without stacking several.
Good low-carb choices
- Salad or bowl base, or a Jr. Burrito (10") instead of the full 12" if you want some tortilla
- One starchy add-on, not two — pick either rice or beans, not both
- All proteins work — they're carb-light across the board
- Guacamole, cheese, sour cream, and non-starchy vegetables freely
What adds up fast
- Stacking rice + beans + a full tortilla in the same order easily clears 100g of carbs
- Chips as a side add another 47g on top of whatever's in the burrito or bowl
